"Slowly, and at first imperceptibly, things began to transform. Decades of decline and decay were followed by a growing prosperity that continues to unfold to this day".
Thus will begin Argentina's history and the transformation towards its new paradigm when it is written 100 years from now.
🤔 How did that happen?
It happened when people realised that they had lived decades trapped in false dilemmas, in dichotomies and conflicts that in their reactivity only generated tension and paralysis.
👉 It happened when people started to step out of their circles of belonging, started to walk, to ask and to wonder, to listen and to be listened to.
It happened when citizens realised that there was much more in common between all of them, whatever their social, economic or cultural class, than with a group of party politicians stuck in their seats, only concerned with winning elections and maintaining their privileges.
It happened when Argentina knew how to do the opposite of its Latin American brothers and sisters (who served as a mirror for them) and knew that they had to channel dissatisfaction by getting out of the labyrinth from above, "proposing" and not just protesting.
👉 It happened when they stopped asking: "Who are you going to vote for?" or "Who do you like the most?", and started asking: "What do you think of this candidate's plan for government? "
It happened when they understood that a president should not be a caudillo or a messianic leader, but a capable man, above all honest, of dialogue and listening, who knew how to bring together a team of suitable professionals from which a Strategic Plan of Government, its State Policies and the ministers who would accompany him to implement it would emerge.
Something as basic and essential for success as a very good government team.
👉 It happened when they refused to vote for "the least bad", for empty slogans, for old practices, for reactive or inconsistent candidates with no other proposal than to speak ill of their opponent or all the time of the past, for not having any project to offer for the future.
🎯 But above all things began to change when we Citizens stopped thinking in terms of "or", replaced it in the first instance by an "and" and then both by the "how".
How does Argentina grow and develop? How did other countries that were as poor and decadent as Argentina is today? What are those state policies that must not change, whoever governs?
📚 Anyone who has studied history knows about cycles and knows that decades of decline can be replaced by decades of prosperity.
But it is not one person. It is a team, and supporting that team, so that the renewal of party politics happens and is sustained, is another, bigger team. We, the Citizens; may we never forget: we are votes.
👨🦱👱♀️ Citizens are the protagonists and makers of the present that will determine our future.
